Foundation
In January of 2001 the Potosi Brewery building was donated to the Potosi Brewery Foundation and the brewery property was officially transferred. The non-profit Potosi Brewery Foundation is an organization dedicated to restoring and preserving one of Wisconsin's historical treasures, the Potosi Brewery.
The mission statement of the Potosi Brewery Foundation reads as follows:
"The purpose of the Potosi Brewing Foundation is to restore a historic landmark, the Potosi Brewery site, and to reconnect the community to a part of its heritage. It is a further purpose to incorporate into the restoration a:
- National Brewery Museum and Library
- Potosi Brewing Company Transportation Museum
- An Interpretive Center for the Great River Road
- Restaurant, brewpub and outdoor eating area
- Gift Shop
It is a further purpose to develop this site as a tourist destination of historic and educational interest contributing to the viability of the community. Finally, it is a purpose to use the site as an educational center with emphasis on the Mississippi River and the Great River Road."
